Music

Playing music on the Xtreamer is as easy as 1-2-3. You browse to the folder you want, and hit the OK or Play button. As for the cover art, you can either name the JPG images according to the folder's name in which the MP3 files are in or just name it cover.jpg in general, both ways will work. But I found that some cover images are not displayed, I think it's because of the specs for cover art, since when I browse to the image, the Xtreamer will display it as usual. Didn't find out what the max specs for the images are though, maybe a developer or someone analysing the firmware can tell us later and I will update the info right here.

Now here's a short video showing how I browse to the album folder on my USB stick. The Xtreamer as expected is very fast in navigating and displaying the cover art.

Note: the audio is recorded using the camcorder's inbuilt mic. So don't wonder about the mouse clicks and sighs, my girlfriend was sitting at my computer browsing the internet and got bored about me recording the TV screen :)

Cover art is loaded and displayed fast. You can fast forward the current song and will still hear the song at the first two forwarding speeds. If you wanna go faster you won't hear anything anymore. Too bad you can't hear when rewinding, now THAT would be a nice feature! :)

While listening to a song, you can just browse through your collection and choose another song while the current continues playing until you hit the OK or Play button for the new selected song.

When browsing to a video file, the music stops of course and plays the video incl. its audio track. But after you change the folder the music of the previous song does not continue. That's not a must have but it would be a cool feature to me.

But altogether I can say, music playback on the Xtreamer is very nice. Too bad the Xtreamer does not have a little display so you either have to switch on your energy-swallowing TV or connect a smaller LCD screen to the cinch video output.
