Connectivity
You have lots of ways to get your Xtreamer connected to other devices in your household. Since it supports wireless, there are even no borders :)
Windows shares can be accessed easily from within the Xtreamer. In the web interface you can enable the FTP demon on the Xtreamer to access all(!) devices which are connected to it via another FTP client on your PC for example.
During betatesting the fw v1.0.2 the DDNS' host changed from <myname>.xtreamer.net to <myname>.myxtreamer.net and they got it working properly so when you set <myname> it will act like a DynDNS client which assigns your current IP to their domain. Means, you don't have to use web services like DynDNS.org anymore, the Xtreamer will do the job and you can access your Xtreamer or your PC (e.g. with Windows Remote Desktop) from anywhere in the world.
The Xtreamer is also a UPnP server, so when you enable this service, you can have your Sony Playstation 3 connected to the network and play media files like music or photos off the Xtreamer. Isn't that cool?
