HD audio in Xtreamer FW v2.4b13+

Hey guys, I know you’ve been waiting long for this beta to be released as final. I’ve been following the progress since beta1 and it is really good to see that they are adding stuff that’s been requested by us in the forums. Some examples are a sync with NTP timeserver or a list of recently played files… most important personally for ME are the many enhancements they did that made a Jukebox on the Xtreamer possible (yes will also work on old Xtreamer model). Of course the FW release has seen a lot of delay due to that and I can understand that many of you are angry about that…

Anyway, I think the most important addition for some of YOU is the HD audio support that’s been recently added to the firmware. But be aware: as I own an Xtreamer Pro and an (old) Xtreamer 2.5″ model I am also affected (half) by the fact that HD audio is not going to happen on the old models (which is currently “on sale”).

You would need either the Xtreamer Pro or the newer hardware revision of the old Xtreamer, the Sidewinder model… and just as proof that HD audio is actually currently working on my Xtreamer Pro, I made a video (forgive me for the missing tripod and my shaking hand, as it was already late) that will demonstrate it with my 5.1 Yamaha RX-V465.

Please note that my AVR is only a 5.1 receiver, so it only shows 5.1 on the display, if you had a 7.1 one, it will display so… secret footage at 2:12min!!! … and watch it till the end…
