Disassembling

The e-TRAYz is much easier to disassemble than the Xtreamer. 12 screws are to be removed (or 14 in total if you want to change LEDs or the buzzer) but while doing so, I never had the feeling I would break something because the e-TRAYz is a really well-made brick.

Of course I have to warn you once more that - surprise surprise - disassembling the e-TRAYz will void warranty. But as mentioned there isn't much you can damage unless you are very very clumsy and careless. In that case, keep your fingers from the screwdriver :)

Follow the below images and their descriptions to see how to make your way through to get to the chips and the fan.

See these 4 screws at the back of the e-TRAYz?You got it, unscrew them and ...... use the screwdriver carefully (don't damage the fan) to lift and loose the back plate ...... like this and pull it down ...... like this! Now you revealed another 4 screws which need to be unscrewed to remove the back plate which has the fan mounted on it.Don't lose this little COPY button :)I almost lost sight of it while disassembling the e-TRAYz.These are the cables for the LEDs and the buzzer. You can unplug them from their socket to get a better view on ...... the main CPU of the e-TRAYz, the OXE810DSE ... this is also the area where the hot air get sucked out by the fan ...... and of course a view on the other chips as well. This is the back side of the PCB with the SATA connectors for the HDDs and ...... last but not least: the 40mm fan of the e-TRAYz.
